Two charged after three cars stolen in 'frost-jacking' spree

Two men have been charged after three cars were stolen during a “frost-jacking” spree in Fife.

The thefts occurred between 8am and 8.50am on Friday while the vehicles were left defrosting outside properties.

The first incident involved the theft of an Audi A3 in Glenrothes around 7.55am, which was later traced in Kirkcaldy. The second incident involved a black Hyundai i40 in Kinghorn, Burntisland, which was reported stolen around 8.40am.

A blue BMW X3 was then stolen from Abbots Walk, Kirkcaldy, at around 8.50am and traced nearby a short time later.

All three vehicles were recovered.

On Monday, police confirmed that two men, aged 29 and 34, were charged in connection with the incidents.

They are both due to appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Monday.
