Parts of eastern Scotland are set to be battered by thunderstorms and heavy downpours.
The Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms covering Angus, Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, and Moray, which will come into effect from 2pm on Wednesday.
The alert is expected to remain in place until 9pm.
The forecaster also warned slow-moving, heavy showers are likely to develop, with up to 15-20mm, possibly 30mm, of rain falling over a few hours, before easing in the evening.
Drivers have been warned to take care on roads due to difficult driving conditions and road closures, while public transport could be disrupted.
Heavy rain and thunderstorms could also lead to flooding, with residents and businesses urged to remain vigilant.
The Met Office added that there is a chance of power cuts in some areas.
The weather warning read: “Consider if your location is at risk of flash flooding. If so, consider preparing a flood plan and an emergency flood kit.
“Give yourself the best chance of avoiding delays by checking road conditions if driving, or bus and train timetables, amending your travel plans if necessary.
“If you find yourself outside and hear thunder, protect yourself by finding a safe enclosed shelter (such as a car). Do not shelter under or near trees, or other structures which may be struck by lightning. If you are on an elevated area, move to lower ground.
“People cope better with power cuts when they have prepared for them in advance. It’s easy to do; consider gathering torches and batteries, a mobile phone power pack and other essential items.
“Be prepared for weather warnings to change quickly: when a weather warning is issued, the Met Office recommends staying up to date with the weather forecast in your area.”
