Three people have been seriously injured in a crash involving two motorbikes and a tractor in Aberdeenshire.

Police were called to the A92 near Catterline around 3.25pm on Saturday following the three-vehicle crash.

The rider and passenger of a BMW K1200, a 61-year-old man and a 52-year-old woman, and the 44-year-old male rider of a Yamaha FZ6, were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the tractor was uninjured.

The road was closed for around seven hours to allow for crash investigations to be carried out.

Police are now looking to speak with anyone who was on the road around the time of the incident or saw the vehicles involved before the crash.

Sergeant Lesley Morrison said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish exactly what happened and I’m appealing for the public’s help.

“Were you travelling on the A92 around the time of the incident and saw what happened? Did you see any of the vehicles prior to the crash and have information which may help? If you do, please come forward.

“I’d also ask drivers with dash-cams to review your footage and bring anything of significance to our attention.”

Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference 1783 of March 21.
