A teenager has died, and three people are in hospital after a two-car crash in Inverurie.
Emergency services were called to reports of a crash on the B9001 Inverurie to Rothienorman road around 3.20pm on Saturday.
A 19-year-old man, who was driving a Citroen C2, was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin has been made aware.
The 20-year-old female passenger was taken to hospital alongside the 60-year-old female driver and 64-year-old male passenger of a white Land Rover Range Rover Sport.
They all remain in a stable condition.
The road was closed for around ten hours to allow for full crash investigations to be carried out. It was reopened around 1am on Sunday.
Sergeant Alexander Bowser-Riley said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died and those involved in the incident. We will continue to support them throughout the investigation.
“I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, and who has not already spoken to officers, to get in touch.
“I would also appeal to anyone who was driving in the area around the time of the crash and who may have dashcam footage which could assist us to contact police.”
