A teenager has been sentenced after seriously assaulting a police officer.
Dylon Guyan carried out the attack on Sunday, June 30, 2024, when officers responded to a report of concern for a person on Auchinyell Road in Aberdeen.
The 19-year-old pled guilty on Wednesday, January 9, 2025, and was sentenced to five months behind bars at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Friday, February 21, 2025.
Inspector Paul Hammond said: “Dylon Guyan violently assaulted an on-duty officer, resulting in hospitalisation. Such attacks on police officers who are carrying out their duties are completely unacceptable.
“Police officers put themselves in harm’s way to keep the public safe, and any violence toward them will not be tolerated. We will continue to take robust action against anyone who assaults our officers.”
