Teenage girl, 15, appears in court charged with terrorism offences

The girl is accused of six separate terrorism charges including belonging to or claiming to be part of a terrorist organisation.

A teenage girl from Dundee has appeared in court after being charged with terrorism offences.

The 15-year-old appeared at Dundee Sheriff Court on Wednesday accused of six separate charges under the Terrorism Act 2000 and the Terrorism Act 2006.

One of which alleges that she either belonged to or claimed to be part of a terrorist organisation.

Another charge alleges she expressed opinions or beliefs supportive of such a group, demonstrating recklessness regarding whether her actions might encourage others to support the organisation.

She is also accused of inviting support for a terrorist organisation and of committing offences related to the collection of information.

The youth made no plea or declaration at the private hearing and was granted bail after being committed for further examination.
