Road closed for five hours after teen seriously injured in e-motorbike crash

The teenage rider of an electric motorcycle is in hospital after a crash in Aberdeen.

Emergency services were called around 6pm on Tuesday to reports of a crash involving a black and red electric motorcycle on Tillydrone Road.

The teenage male was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment to what were described as serious injuries.

The road was closed to allow for enquiries to be carried out and reopened around 11pm.

Sergeant Sarah Ritchie from the North East Road Policing Unit said: “Our enquiries are at a very early stage, and I believe the area was busy with other road users at the time who will have witnessed the crash.

“I would ask anyone who was in the area at the time and may have any information about the crash or dashcam footage to come forward.”
