A teenager has been arrested and charged in connection with the discovery of drugs and weapons in Dundee.

Officers from the divisional Serious and Organised Crime Team carried out a search of an individual in the city centre on Thursday, March 7.

Cocaine and a small amount cannabis were recovered as officers also seized a bladed weapon and an imitation firearm.

A further search at a property resulted in more cocaine being recovered, with the total value of the drugs discovered in excess of £4,400.

The 17-year-old male is due to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court on Friday, March 8.

Detective Constable Luke Doogan said: “Officers are committed to disrupting the sale and supply of illegal drugs in Dundee and will continue to do so day in, day out.

“Information and support from members of the public is vital to our work and I would encourage anyone with concerns about drugs activity in their area to contact Police Scotland on 101.
