Teen charged after collision with police car in supermarket car park

An 18-year-old man has been charged with a number of alleged offences following the collision on Tuesday.

A teenager has been arrested after a car crashed with a police vehicle in Dundee.

The crash, which occurred in the car park of a supermarket at Kingsway Retail Park, was between an unmarked police car and a white Ford Focus.

Officers had signalled for the car to stop on Clepington Road around 10.10am on Tuesday.

However, the incident resulted in a collision between both vehicles in the car park nearby a short time later.

Following the incident, an 18-year-old man has been arrested and charged with a number of alleged offences.

A report is due to be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Sergeant Kevin Wilkie said: “We are continuing with enquiries to establish the full circumstances and would ask anyone who may have seen the collision at Kingsway Retail Park or who has any other information to come forward.

“You can call 101, quoting reference 0781 of December 6.”
