A suspect has appeared in court charged with the murder of a man at a Dundee tower block on Hogmanay.

Emergency services were called around 2.05pm on Wednesday, December 31 to Hilltown Terrace in the Hilltown area of the city.

A 38-year-old man was pronounced dead within Tulloch Court.

After following the victim’s movements on CCTV, Detectives realised a hat and shoes had been taken from his body.

Matthew Tudge, of no fixed abode, has appeared at Dundee Sheriff Court charged with one count of murder.

The 43-year-old made no plea and was remanded in custody. He is due to make a second court appearance within the next eight days.
