A suspect has been arrested after the serious assault of a man outside a community centre in Fife.
Emergency services closed off High Street in Newburgh, west of Cupar, on Wednesday morning following a report of a person having been injured.
Detectives are carrying out door-to-door enquiries after the incident happened outside the Tayside Institute community centre.
A man was taken to hospital for treatment.
A 42-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a serious assault and enquiries are ongoing.
A Police Scotland statement read: “High Street, Newburgh, Cupar has reopened following a report of a man injured.
“He was taken to hospital for treatment.
“A 42-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a serious assault and enquiries are ongoing.”
