A fire which took hold of a St Andrews University building is now under control, however, work is still ongoing to extinguish the blaze.
Emergency services were alerted to the incident in the North Haugh area at around 2.24pm on Wednesday.
Four fire engines were dispatched to the scene along with specialist resources. A university spokesperson has confirmed that the blaze has been contained in a storage area within the New Technology building.
The wider area is still affected by smoke and water.
A St Andrews University spokesperson said: “The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service remain on scene damping down.
“The fire appears to have been contained to a storage area in one corner of the building, although we expect the wider premises to be considerably affected by smoke and water.
“It is safe to come and go from North Haugh buildings outwith the close cordon set up by the Fire Service, and we’re very grateful to our staff for their cooperation and support.
“We will be reaching out as soon as possible to Schools and Units who may be affected by loss of access to this building.

A cordon remains in place near the building. No injuries were reported following the incident.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 2.24pm on Wednesday, January 14, to reports of a building fire on North Haugh, St Andrews.
“Operations Control mobilised four appliances and specialist resources to the scene, where firefighters are working to extinguish the fire affecting a single-storey building.
“There were no reported casualties, and crews remain at the scene.”
