This is the moment the ghost of Lady Aurora visited Aberdeenshire as the Northern Lights filled the sky.

Darrell Knight, 42, is an astrophotography fan and didn’t notice the ghoulish face until he was scrolling back through his photos.

He said the snap of the green lights in the shape of a face over Ellon gave him the chills.

The oil and gas worker said: “I have alerts on my phone for potential activity.

“I wasn’t going to head outside as the weather had been terrible, but I thought I would take a look.

“I hadn’t noticed the picture until I was scrolling back through my phone’s photos and she was there looking at me, giving me chills”.

“I was amazed by what was on my door step.

“It was one of those once in a lifetime captures.”

The Northern Lights, also known as aurora borealis was spotted on November 3.
