An investigation has been launched after several cars were deliberately set on fire in an Aberdeenshire village on Saturday.
The incident happened around 2.50pm on Saturday, February 28, in the Jackstown Cottages area of Rothienorman.
Extensive damage was caused to the vehicles and to some nearby outbuildings and their contents.
Emergency services attended and the fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service. There were no reported injuries.
Detective Constable Chris Henderson said: “This was a reckless act and our enquiries are ongoing to identify those responsible.
“We are appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident and noticed anything suspicious to please contact us.
“In addition, anyone who has private CCTV, doorbell or dash-cam footage is asked to get in touch with police as this may be able to assist our investigation.”
