A manhunt has been launched after a seven-year-old girl was allegedly kicked by a man outside a shopping centre in an unprovoked attack.
Police said the schoolgirl was not injured, but was left “extremely upset and distressed”.
The incident was reported to have taken place at the Murraygate entrance to the Wellgate Centre in Dundee at around 4pm on Monday.
The suspect was described as having a dark complexion, possibly Asian, and is believed to be in his 20s, around 6ft and with a heavy build.
He was wearing a dark blue jacket at the time of the incident and was in the company of a woman wearing “long pink clothing”.
Investigating officers are looking to trace members of the public who reportedly stopped to offer assistance.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “It is understood that a number of passers-by approached the family of the victim to offer assistance or inform them that they had witnessed the incident.
“We would like to speak to these potential witnesses as soon as possible.”
