STV NewsSeven people have been taken to hospital following a multi-vehicle crash in Aberdeenshire.
The crash, which involved three vehicles, occurred just before 7am on Wednesday morning, on the A96 north of Huntly.
Emergency services were dispatched to the scene, including three fire appliances, whose crews used cutting equipment.
It has now been confirmed that two people have been taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary by air ambulance.
Three more patients were transported to the Aberdeen hospital, while two others were taken to Dr Gray’s in Elgin.
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 6.54am to attend a three-car road traffic collision on the A96, north of Huntly.
“Five ambulances, an air ambulance and two special operations response teams (SORT) were dispatched to the scene.
“Five patients were transported to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary – two by air ambulance – and two patients were transported to Dr Gray’s Hospital.”
Police confirmed the A96 has been closed in both directions due to the crash, and drivers are advised to seek an alternative route.
