Seven fire engines are on the scene of a large wildfire which has broken out at a quarry in Moray.
Emergency services were alerted to the blaze at the Sunbank Quarry in Lossiemouth on Tuesday afternoon. Dozens of firefighters were sent to try to extinguish the flames.
Residents have been urged to keep their windows and doors closed and avoid the area.
Pictures of the incident show a huge cloud of smoke sweeping across the area. The bright orange flames have also been pictured edging closer to a new residential neighbourhood.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: “We are currently in attendance at a large fire within a quarry in Lossiemouth.
“Seven fire appliances are in attendance at the Sunbank Quarry, with crews working to extinguish the fire.
“Please avoid the area as far as possible and, if you live locally, keep windows and doors closed for the time being.”
