Searches resume for missing woman Hazel Nairn swept away in River Don one year on Police Scotland

Searches have resumed for a missing woman thought to have been swept away in a river following severe flooding in Aberdeenshire one year ago.

Hazel Nairn disappeared at the River Don near Monymusk in November 2022 while she was out with her dog.

The body of her pet was later found near the river but extensive searches failed to locate the 71-year-old.

Last month, specialist underwater teams used sonar technology to check parts of the water.

Beneath the Surface, a group of divers based in Lancashire, joined local divers for the search.

The team will resume their search for Ms Nairn over the weekend, one year after she was reported missing.
