Tributes have been paid to a Scottish grandmother who rose to fame on TikTok as a gamer, following her death at the age of 78.
Agnes, or EpicGamerGrandma as she was known to her followers, died in hospital on Sunday after suffering a stroke in October, her family said.
The gran from Dunfermline’s TikTok page has more than 2m followers and amassed hundreds of thousands of views from across the globe.
Agnes was also known for sharing funny videos on her platforms, and streaming, playing Minecraft and other games.
She also raised awareness of her chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), which earned her the moniker of the “coughing gran”.
In a statement shared online, Dylan, her grandson, said she showed that the internet “doesn’t just belong to the young”.
A statement read: “We are completely heartbroken but also incredibly proud. Proud of the woman she was long before anyone knew her online.
“Proud of the mum and grandma who held our family together and proud of the way she spent her later years proving that life does not end at a certain age, it only changes shape.”
He added: “For most of her life, Agnes was not an influencer. She was a daughter, a sister, a mum, a grandma, a neighbour, a friend.
“She was the person who made sure everyone else was fed before she even thought of herself.
“She was the one who remembered birthdays, who called just to check in, who quietly carried more than she ever let on. She was home.”
