A cat, believed to be Scotland’s oldest rescue, is searching for a loving home after being found in a house filled with rubbish.
The 20-year-old ginger cat named Cleo was found living in “horrific” hoarding conditions, trapped in a house piled high with rubbish.
She was taken to the Scottish SPCA Animal and Rehoming Centre in Aberdeen.
After spending 25 days at the centre and getting a full health check from vets, Cleo is now ready to find her forever home.
The SSPCA said the elderly feline is believed to be Scotland’s oldest rescue cat. Although she is frail, the organization hopes to find Cleo a happy home for her remaining years.

The animal charity described her as a quiet, gentle soul who, despite her tough past, has “plenty of love to give”.
“Cleo is a lovely old girl and deserves to have a restful forever home to see out her final days,” staff at the centre said.
“Due to her past, she’s not used to being picked up but loves a head scratch and will fully lean into your hand.”
Cleo spends most of her day snuggled in bed or perched high up on their cat shelves, watching the world go by.
The animal charity said that, like most older cats, Cleo doesn’t have many teeth left, so he is on a wet food diet only.
“Despite her previous appalling home’s conditions, she uses her litter tray with no issue,” SSPCA added.
Cleo would be happy being the only pet in the home but could possibly live with older children if they know how to give her space when she needs it.
SSPCA urged anyone who can offer Cleo a home to apply on their website.
