Road closed for over 18 hours after Tesco lorry bursts into flames

One person was treated on the scene of the A85 by ambulance crews.

A road in Perthshire was closed for more than 18 hours after a Tesco lorry burst into flames.

Footage shared with STV News shows the truck at the side of the A85 between Mid Lix and Glenogle, as a blaze engulfed the cabin around 12.05pm on Sunday.

One person was treated at the scene by ambulance crews.

Restrictions were in place from 10pm and the area had reopened at 7.36am on Monday.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 12.07pm on Sunday, June 8, to reports of a lorry on fire on the A85 near Killin.

“Operations Control mobilised three fire appliances to the scene, and the fire was extinguished.

“One casualty was treated at the scene by the Scottish Ambulance Service. Crews then left the area after ensuring it was safe.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “The A85 near to the junction with the A827, Mid Lix, has reopened following a report of a vehicle fire on Sunday, June 8, 2025.

“Motorists are thanked for their co-operation.”
