Residents in Aberdeen are being advised to keep their windows and doors closed following a house.

Fire crews are currently dealing with the blaze on Westburn Drive which broke out around 11.40am on Saturday morning.

Police have closed the street between Ashgrove Road and Six Roads Roundabout due to the building fire.

Scottish Fire and Rescue confirmed they have dispatched six fire engines which remain on the scene.

They have urged surrounding neighbours to keep their windows and doors closed for the time being.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Westburn Drive in Aberdeen is closed between Ashgrove Road and the Six Roads Roundabout due to a building fire.

“We were called around 11.40am and emergency services remain at the scene.

“Drivers are urged to use an alternative route.”
