A Range Rover has been torched after it was involved in a Dundee hit-and-run, during which a teenage cyclist was left with serious injuries.
The collision occurred on Old Hawkhill at a mini roundabout at the junction with Hunter Street and Small’s Wynd at around 12.55am on Friday.
The incident involved a red Range Rover Evoque and a cyclist.
Emergency services attended, and an 18-year-old man was taken to Ninewells Hospital with serious injuries.
The car involved did not stop and was later found torched at Balgay Park in the city. Enquiries are ongoing to trace the driver.
The fire was put out by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and it is being treated as deliberate.
The road was closed and re-opened around 4.50am.
Sergeant John MacDiarmid said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to trace the driver of the vehicle who failed to stop and to establish the full circumstances.
“We are asking anyone in the area at the time to get in touch if they have information that could assist with our investigation, particularly relating to the Range Rover before and after the crash.
“Please also check any private CCTV or dash-cam footage you have to see if something has been captured that may help officers.”
