Members of the public have been urged to search their garages and sheds for a missing man from Dundee.

Alan Woodcock was last seen around mid-morning on Monday in the Osborne Place area of Dundee.

Investigators believe the 76-year-old may have travelled to Arbroath via Barry Buddon, Barry, and Carnoustie.

He is described as approximately 5ft 9 in height, of slim build, has grey thinning hair and wears glasses.

At the time of his disappearance. Alan was likely wearing a grey woollen hat, a green Barbour style jacket, blue jeans and grey trainers.

Officers are continuing to search the last known location and the area he is thought to have travelled to, with the assistance of the Coastguard.

Inspector Ahmad, Lochee Police Station, stated: “We, along with Alan’s family, are concerned for his well-being and are seeking the public’s assistance to check their gardens, garages and sheds as Alan may have taken shelter within.

“I would also ask anyone who may have seen Alan in Dundee, Carnoustie or Arbroath since mid-morning on Monday to contact the police as a matter of urgency. Please quote incident number 3104 of Monday, 8 December 2025.

“I would also appeal directly to Alan, if you are reading this message, please contact your family, approach any police officer or phone officers so we can ensure you are safe and well.”
