A pensioner who targeted young boys for abuse is facing a lengthy prison sentence as he was revealed to be a prolific sexual offender.
Jack McKay, 70, exposed himself to three children and molested one of the youngsters in offences committed at two addresses in Milnathort, in Perth and Kinross.
McKay, also known as Michie, denied abusing the boys at a trial at the High Court in Edinburgh but was convicted of three offences of indecent behaviour towards them committed between 1974 and 1979.
He invited one boy, who was under 16, into his former home in Milnathort and exposed himself before carrying out sex acts.
The sex offender also exposed himself to two other boys at a different address in the town during his offending.
After the jury found him guilty of the crimes the court heard his criminal record included 13 previous convictions for sexual offences dating from 1976, including indecent exposure, indecent assault and sodomy. He has been jailed five times.
A judge told him: “You have a very poor record, dating back decades, of sexual offending against young persons.”
Judge Susan Craig told him: “You can take it from me, you will be receiving a custodial sentence.”
The judge told jurors: “He will not be getting his liberty any time soon.”
The judge called for a background report to be prepared on him ahead of sentencing next month at the High Court in Livingston.
McKay was placed on the sex offenders’ register and remanded in custody.
