An investigation has been launched following the unexplained death of a man in a home on Monday.

Emergency services were called to a property in the Kingsmills area of Elgin at around 3.50pm following the sudden death of a 66-year-old man.

Investigators are treating the incident as unexplained, however, there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.

An enquiry is ongoing and a report is due to be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal, Police Scotland said.

A spokesperson for the force said: “Around 3.50pm on Monday, January 6, 2025, we were called to an address in Kingsmills, Elgin following the sudden death of a 66-year-old man.

“The death is currently being treated as unexplained, but there are not believed to any suspicious circumstances. Enquiries are ongoing. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
