An investigation has been launched into a wilful fire which caused “significant damage” to the garden of an Inverurie home.
Emergency services were called to the property on Corsmanhill Way at around 5pm on Sunday, March 5.
No one was injured as a result of the blaze.
The fire was extinguished, however police confirmed that it is being treated as wilful and an investigation is ongoing.
Detective sergeant Richard Cooper said: “This fire caused significant damage and luckily no one was injured, however the consequences could have been much more serious.
“At this stage in our investigation, we are appealing for any witnesses to the fire, or anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously to please come forward.
“I would also like to hear from anyone with any personal footage of the fire as this may assist our enquiries.
“Anyone with information or footage should contact officers through 101 quoting reference number 2418 of March 5. Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
