Two people have been taken for treatment following the crash in Dundee on Wednesday morning.

Two people including a police officer have been taken to hospital after a crash between a marked vehicle and a car.

Police said that the marked vehicle and a Toyota Aygo driven by a member of the public collided at around 5.55am on Wednesday, December 7.

The incident occurred on Clepington Road at the junction with Strathmartine Road 

A male police officer and the female driver of the car were both taken to the city’s Ninewells Hospital for treatment.

The road remains closed as an investigation is carried out at the scene.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A marked police vehicle was involved in a collision with a Toyota Aygo car driven by a member of the public around 5.55am on Wednesday, December 7.

“One male police officer and a woman from the car have been taken to Ninewells Hospital for treatment.

“The road remains closed to allow for an investigation at the scene.”
