Eight people have been involved in a roadside “disturbance” following a crash involving two cars in Carnoustie.

It is understood no one was injured in the incident at around 6.45pm on Tuesday, June 21, at the turn between Church Street and Carlogie Road. However, police were called to the area after reports it had provoked an argument between at least two parties.

Officers say they are following a “positive line of inquiry” after tracing the two vehicles involved, but now want to track down the occupants of a third seen nearby.

The white vehicle was being driven by a woman with at least one male passenger, police said.

Detectives have appealed for anyone with dashboard-mounted cameras to get in touch and share footage with investigators as part of the probe.

Inspector Grant McGaughay said: “The two vehicles involved in the crash have been traced and we are following a positive line of enquiry.

“We are also looking to trace a white vehicle which was seen near the incident and was being driven by a female with male occupants within.

“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident and witnessed what happened or anyone in the area with dash cam or private CCTV footage to get in touch.”

Anyone with information can call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident 2810 of June 21. Alternatively, please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where you can give your information anonymously.
