'Reckless': Police investigating deliberate fire at derelict building

Police are investigating a “reckless” and deliberate fire at derelict building in Forfar.

Emergency services were called around 10am on Saturday to a report of a fire at a derelict building on Arbroath Road.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service extinguished the fire and there were no reports of any injuries.

Detective Sergeant Colin Watson said: “This was a reckless act and enquiries are ongoing to trace those responsible.

“I would urge anyone who has any information, or who saw anything suspicious in the area, to contact police.

“We’re also keen to hear from anyone with private CCTV or dash-cam footage that could assist with our enquiries.”
