Police are hunting a man in his 50s who boarded a bus in Dundee and racially abused a passenger.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, June 19 around 9.55pm in Broughty Ferry, after the man boarded the number 5 Xplore bus on Queen Street.

The man, described as being around 5ft 11in, of medium build with very short brown hair, then racially abused a passenger.

Officers are treating the incident as a hate crime and urged other passengers on board the bus at the time to come forward with information.

Constable Christopher Cutler said: “This type of behaviour is completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

“There were multiple passengers on the bus who would have heard the abuse. I am appealing to them to come forward and speak to us.”
