A police dog injured while responding to a knife incident in Aberdeen is to return to active duty.
Zeus, a six-year-old Belgian Malinois, was sent with officers to reports of a man wielding a knife in the Seaforth Road area, near Pittodrie Stadium, on February 28.
The dog suffered injuries during the incident and was taken to the vets for treatment.
A 28-year-old man, Linas Luopas, was injured after being struck by a police car and taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment and released into police custody.
He appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court to face various charges after the incident, including having a bladed item in a public place, assault, and an animal welfare allegation.

He made no plea and was remanded in custody.
Zeus has since recovered from his injuries and is set to return to policing duties alongside his handler.
“Some great news from Aberdeen; that’s PD Zeus back fit and well after being injured last month,” a Police Scotland spokesperson said.
“Zeus and his handler are now looking forward to getting back to work and keeping everyone safe.
“We’re all very grateful for the support offered by members of the public.”
