A police dog has been injured after responding to an incident allegedly involving a man with a knife on Friday.

Emergency services, including a dog unit, were called to the Seaforth Road area of Aberdeen, near Pittodrie Stadium, at around 4.50pm.

The incident is believed to have taken place within the grounds of Trinity Cemetery. A 27-year-old man was arrested and taken to hospital for treatment.

The street remains closed at the junction of Park Road and officers are still in the area.

The police dog was taken to a vet for treatment.
