Police appeal after petrol can thrown at antique shop

Hundreds of pounds worth of damage was caused to the shop when the gas canister was through the window.

Police are appealing for information after a gas canister was thrown through the window of an antiques shop.

The incident took place at around 8.30pm on Monday at the shop on Townhead, Auchterarder.

A three-figure sum worth of damage was caused to the building’s exterior by the canister that landed inside the shop.

Police say it appears likely that someone arrived either in a vehicle or on foot shortly and deliberately threw the canister.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses.

A spokesman said: “If you have any information that could assist our investigation, please call 101 or speak with any police officer.”
