Police appeal after motorcyclist seriously injured in crash

Police are appealing for information after a road crash left a motorcyclist with serious injuries.

Police are appealing for the public to come forward with information following a serious road crash on the B979 outside Aberdeen.

The crash happened around 12.40pm on Wednesday near Clinterty, between the junction of the A96 at Tyrebagger and Clinterty Caravan site, and involved a black Audi A5 and black KTM motorbike.

The motorcyclist, a 38-year-old man, remains in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary after sustaining serious injuries as a result of the collision.

The road was closed for around eight hours and reopened at 8.40pm.

Sergeant Alexander Bowser-Riley from the Road Policing Unit said: “Enquiries into the crash are ongoing and I would urge anyone who saw either vehicle prior to the collision, or anyone who was driving on the road at the time and saw what happened, and has not already spoken to police to contact us.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.
