Police are appealing for information after a car was deliberately set on fire in Dundee.

Emergency services were called to Pitkerro Road at around 2:15 am on Saturday and found the vehicle had been extensively damaged.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident, with police treating it as wilful.

Sergeant Wayne Brand from Maryfield Police Station said: “We are appealing for anyone who was in the area of Pitkerro Road in the early hours of this morning, and saw anything suspicious, to please get in touch.

“In particular we would urge any motorists with dash-cams who were travelling through to check their footage in case they have captured anything which could be of significance.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland through 101, quoting incident number 0494 of Saturday, July 10, 2021.

“Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
