A person has been struck by a train between Arbroath and Dundee railway stations.

ScotRail confirmed the incident on Twitter at around 2.30pm on Saturday afternoon.

The condition of the person is not yet known.

A spokesperson for ScotRail said: “Sadly, we have received reports of a person being struck by a train between Arbroath and Dundee.

“We’re working closely with emergency services during this time.”

Rail journeys between Dundee and Arbroath are currently disrupted, however, ScotRail confirmed tickets will be accepted on several local Stagecoach services.
