Man in hospital and road closed after crash involving van and lorry near Aberuthven

A man has been taken to hospital after a crash involving a van and a lorry in Perth and Kinross.

Emergency services were called to the collision on the A824 at Aberuthven between Mennieburn Road and Mossend Place around 2.35pm on Tuesday.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service sent four appliances to the scene and one man was taken to Ninewells Hospital by the Scottish Ambulance Service.

Drivers are being asked to avoid the area.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 2.36pm on Tuesday, September 1 to reports of a road traffic collision involving a van and a lorry near Auchterarder.

“Operations Control mobilised four appliances to the A824, where firefighters worked to make the area safe.

“One casualty was taken to hospital by Scottish Ambulance Service personnel.”

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 2.30pm today to attend a road traffic collision on the A824 at Aberuthven. We dispatched a rapid response unit and one ambulance to the scene.

“We transported one male patient in his 30s to Ninewells Hospital.”
