Pedestrian in hospital after being struck by motorcycle as road closed

Police Scotland confirmed the Kingsway in the city is closed westbound between Old Glamis Road and Strathmartin Road

A pedestrian is among three people in hospital after being struck by a motorcycle in Dundee.

Police Scotland confirmed the Kingsway in the city is closed westbound between Old Glamis Road and Strathmartin Road following the collision.

Emergency services were called to the area at 10.25am on Friday, and the male pedestrian has been taken to hospital for treatment.

The Scottish Ambulance Service confirmed it transported three patients in total to Ninewells Hospital following the collision.

Three ambulances, a special operation response team (SORT), and a trauma team were sent to the scene.

However, a Police Scotland statement read: “There are no other reported injuries. Enquiries are ongoing.

“Road users are advised to use an alternative route.”

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 10:18 to attend a road traffic collision on Kingsway, Dundee.

“We dispatched three ambulances, a special operation response team (SORT), and a trauma team to the scene.

“We transported three patients to Ninewells Hospital.”
