A pedestrian has died after being hit by a car in Dundee, with the driver charged in connection with the incident.
Emergency services were called to Forthill Road in Broughty Ferry around 1pm on Monday following a collision involving a red Maserati Quattroporte.
The pedestrian, a 74-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. His family is aware.
No one else was injured.
The driver, a 55-year-old man, was taken to hospital for treatment and released.
He has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident and due to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
The road was closed for crash investigation work and reopened around 8.30pm.
Sergeant David Farr, of Tayside Road Policing, said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who died.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances, and we are asking anyone who saw what happened to get in touch.
“Please also check any private CCTV or dash-cam footage you have to see if anything has been captured that could assist with our investigation.”
