A nursery worker who told a child she would “cut that tongue out of your mouth” has been handed a warning.

Kayley Braidwood made the comment to the child whilst employed as a support worker at KingsWellies Nursery in Aberdeen.

Braidwood also pulled a child by the arm on the same day, and the following day pulled another child by the arm.

Following an investigation by the Scottish Social Services Council, Braidwood was handed a warning which will remain on her registration for two years.

The SSSC said Braidwood’s actions were “serious” and placed the children involved at risk of harm.

She was ordered to undergo training over physical interventions and behaviour management within three months.

The warning came into effect on April 2.
