A nine-year-old girl who died after being found injured at an industrial estate in Angus has been named. - Minnie Merriman, from West Yorkshire, was discovered in Elliot Industrial Estate in Arbroath shortly before midnight on Sunday.
- A man, who is known to her, has been charged in connection with her death

- She was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee but was later pronounced dead
- Three other patients, understood to be related to the girl, were taken to hospital and have since been discharged
- Officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the death, but enquiries remain ongoing
A nine-year-old girl who died after being found injured at an industrial estate in Angus has been named.
Minnie Merriman, from West Yorkshire, was discovered in Elliot Industrial Estate in Arbroath shortly before midnight on Sunday.
She was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee, alongside three other patients, where she was pronounced dead.
On Wednesday, a man is in court after being charged in connection with her death.

The other patients who were transported by the Scottish Ambulance Service, who are related to the girl, were discharged.
In a statement, released through Police Scotland, her family said: “We are devastated with the loss of our beloved, absolutely incredible, beautiful and brave Minnie Moo. Our family asks that our privacy is respected at this extremely difficult time.”
The suspect, who is a white British man, and was known to Minnie, was arrested in connection with her death.
He was also taken to Ninewells Hospital by the police and was later discharged.
Minnie’s family, who had been camping in the area, are being supported by specialist officers, Police Scotland said.
Officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with Minnie’s death.
Detective Inspector Mike Ness of the Major Investigation Team said: “Our thoughts remain with everyone affected by these events, especially Minnie’s family.
“A police presence will remain in the area while our enquiries continue.
“Anyone with any concerns, or information, should approach these officers or contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0008 of Monday, August 3, 2026.”
