A newly-refurbished hotel in Fife has been destroyed following a huge fire.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a fire at St Michael’s Inn near Leuchars around 10pm on Tuesday.
At the height of the fire, nine appliances and four specialist resources were dispatched to the scene.
Images shared on social media showed the fire spreading at the inn with a large number of emergency services in attendance on Tuesday evening.
STV NewsFresh footage from Wednesday afternoon showed the building’s roof had caved in, with crews still on site.
Firefighters are using a high-reach vehicle to spray water down on the building.
As of 2pm on Wednesday, two appliances and one high-reach vehicle remain on scene with crews expecting to be on site for “some time”.
There are no reported casualties.

The A914 is restricted between Forgan Roundabout and St Michaels, and there are also restrictions affecting the A919 to Leuchars and B945 to Tayport.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “Fire crews remain at the scene of a fire affecting a commercial building fire at St Michael’s Inn, Leuchars, St Andrews.
“At its height, nine appliances and four specialist resources were mobilised to the scene, where firefighters worked overnight to control the fire.
“The incident has currently been scaled back to two fire appliances and one high-reach vehicle, and firefighting crews will remain on scene for some time yet.
“People are advised to stay clear of the area. All roads are still closed surrounding the junction at the hotel.”
A Police Scotland statement read: “Around 10.40pm on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, we received a report of a fire at St Michael’s Inn, Leuchars.
“All roads are still closed surrounding the junction at the hotel.
“The A914 is restricted between Forgan Roundabout and St Michaels, and there are also restrictions affecting the A919 to Leuchars and B945 to Tayport.
“Drivers are advised to find alternative routes.
“The fire is not being treated as suspicious.”
