Murder investigation launched after death of Steven Hutton in Dundee as second man charged Police Scotland

A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a man in Dundee.

Steven Hutton was found seriously injured at a property on Charleston Road on Saturday, March 30.

The 43-year-old was taken to Ninewells Hospital for treatment where he later died on March 31.

Following a post mortem, police are now treating his death as murder with investigations ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident.

Barry Murray appeared at Dundee Sheriff Court on Tuesday in connection with the death.

The 43-year-old from Dundee faced a charged of murder. He made no plea and was remanded in custody pending further examination.

He is due to appear in court again within the next eight days.

A second man, aged 39, has now also been arrested and charged in connection with the death. He is due to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court on April 3.
