An arrest has been made in connection with the alleged attempted murder of a man in Aberdeen.

It comes following an incident that took place in the city in the early hours of last Thursday.

A 61-year-old was found injured on the city’s Park Street before being taken to hospital where he was reportedly treated for stab wounds.

A 21-year-old man has now been arrested and charged with attempted murder.

Police say he is due to appear at court on Wednesday.

A spokesman for the force said: “A 21-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the attempted murder of a 61-year-old man in the Park Street area of Aberdeen on Thursday, February 17.

“The 21-year-old man is due before Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Wednesday. A report will be forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal.”
