Motorcyclist fighting for life after being airlifted to hospital

The road remained closed after the crash on Monday evening until 7am on Tuesday.

A motorcyclist has been airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries after a collision on Monday evening.

The one-vehicle crash happened on the A93 Old Military Road between Braemar and Ballater at around 8.25pm on July 18.

The 68-year-old man was taken by helicopter to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

The road remained closed until around 7am on Tuesday, 19 July.

Police are now appealing for witnesses and have urged them to speak to officers if they have not already done so.

Inspector Scott Deans, from the North East road policing unit, said: “We’re appealing for anyone who was in the area and witnessed the incident, or saw the motorbike shortly beforehand, to please speak with officers if they haven’t done so already.

“You can call police on 101, quoting incident 3691 of July 18.”
