Motorcyclist with 'life-threatening' injuries airlifted to hospital after crash with car

A motorcyclist is fighting for his life after being airlifted to hospital following a crash in Elgin.

Emergency services were called to the eastbound carriageway of the B9040 on Sunday around 1pm following reports of a collision.

The crash, involving a silver Skoda Yeti car and black Honda CBR 600F motorcycle, happened around 100 metres east of the Covesea Greens Equestrian Centre.

The motorcyclist, a 60-year-old man, was airlifted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where his injuries are described as “life-threatening”.

The 81-year-old driver of the car and his two female passengers, aged 75 and 46, were not injured.

Police are urging anyone who was travelling on the road around the time of the crash or captured it on their dashcams to come forward.
