A motorcyclist has died in hospital ten days after being involved in a crash with a van on the A822.

Police confirmed a 65-year-old man died on Monday, May 27 at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee after suffering serious injuries in the crash that took place at around 2.10pm on Friday, May 17.

A blue Honda motorcycle and a silver Ford Transit van were involved in the collision on the Gilmerton to Amulree road.

The A822 road was closed for around eight hours while investigations were carried out.

Police said enquires to establish the full circumstances of the crash are ongoing.

Sergeant Brian McEwen said: “We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the crash or who may have dash-cam footage, and has not yet spoken to or provided this information to officers, to contact us as soon as possible.

“Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2167 of Friday, May 17, 2024.”
