A large cannabis farm with a potential street value of up to £850,000 has been discovered in Dundee city centre.

Police raided properties on Tuesday morning after a tip-off and found more than 1,000 plants of the class B drug in Albert Square.

Officers say enquiries are ongoing to trace those involved.

Detective Sergeant David Feeney said: “This was a significant recovery which demonstrates our continued commitment to the Serious and Organised Crime Taskforce and the country’s Serious and Organised Crime Strategy.

“Our enquiries are ongoing to trace those responsible for this cultivation. We remain determined to disrupt those involved in the sale and supply of illegal drugs in our communities.
