Police are appealing for witnesses after a 52-year-old man was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash in Moray.

A blue Toyota Yaris collided with a grey HGV tipper lorry on the B9103 Lossiemouth to Lhanbryde road at around 4.30pm on Wednesday afternoon.

The male driver of the Yaris was airlifted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with life-threatening injuries and the road was closed for around eight hours.

The driver of the lorry was not injured.

Road policing sergeant Steve Manson said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time of the crash or who may have seen either vehicle to get in touch. I would also ask anyone with dashcam footage which may assist to contact us.

“I am particularly keen to trace a vehicle which was driving in front of the car just prior to the crash. The vehicle was not involved but the occupant may have information which could assist.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting incident 2222 of 13 April, 2022.
